I use this Vitamin E oil as part of my skin routine and it recently occurred to me that I can put it on my hair after realizing Indian women have been using oils on their scalp and hair for centuries and today! I learned Korean women during ancient times have also used sesame oil to darken hair (prevent the look of greying) and keep it looking slicked down because it looked cleaner and tidier this way. I think that line of thinking has translated to modern day too just thinking of my own experiences where I was always told my hair looks messy and that I needed to get my hair straightened ASAP because as a lady, it’s not good to look unkempt. I know it’s just another trend, but I like that it’s being called “mermaid hair” because it paints curly hair into a fun and beautiful way. I also recently trimmed my hair and realized this looks best when you have slight layers because now the curls all condense at the bottom and don’t give off that long, mermaid hair voibe.
